In August 2009, Lewis Kaplan will be taking his second summer
leave of absence from The
Mozarteum International Summer Academy in historic Salzburg,
Austria, famed birthplace of Wolfgang
Amadeus Mozart.

Since 1987 Lewis Kaplan has been offering an intensive course in
violin with daily master classes supplemented by private instruction.
Students are encouraged to learn new repertoire and perform in class
and in the Academy concerts in their famed concert halls. Their
technical and musical concerns are at the center of Professor Kaplan's
teaching.
The classes take place in a supportive atmosphere; the highpoint
is the final class concert, open to the public, in which all of
the students are encouraged to perform.
Although the daily schedule is intensive, time is allotted to sightseeing
and enjoying beautiful Salzburg.
